Yes, this really is a picture of the inside of my toilet, posted here on my blog....
I'd better hurry and type this before I begin thinking clearly again.
*****
One thing I would like to have in the new year is cleaner bathrooms.
I have four sons.
The target I put on the inside of our toilets shouldn't need any more explaining then that.
The targets are made from vinyl I cut out using my silhouette.
Here's how I did it.
Since I just showed you the inside of my toilet,
I should also tell you my toilet really isn't as white as it looks in the first picture.
I used the teeth whitening feature on my photo editing software to whiten the toilet.
I'm going to bed now.
This will be posted before I wake up and think better of it.
There has been interest in this so they are available to buy on my etsy shop.

Desperately seeking clean bathrooms. Yours truly,

This made me literally laugh out loud, because I TOTALLY understand! I too have 4 boys, although one is not potty trained yet, but it is impossible to keep a clean bathroom. I think this is such a clever idea, thanks for sharing.

Considering I taped a note to my toilet on Christmas Day that said "If you can't hit the target (ie. water) THEN PEE OUTSIDE" Love, The Chick Who Cleans the Bathroom
ReplyDeleteI totally understand. I may just fire up my silhouette and copy you!
Hilarious! I want one in my toilet!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! Perhaps I could use one in helping to potty train my 2 year old?!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Show & Share!
Now that's hilarious...and very clever. Thanks for sharing at DIYbyDesign.
ReplyDeleteYES I WOULD BUY IT! Where is your etsy shop? I'm having trouble finding a link...?
ReplyDeleteThis idea is just genius. It made my husband bust out laughing, but he admitted that it WOULD be useful!
@Katy Ok, it's available on etsy! I wondered if I was crazy posting this, but everyone seems to like it.
ReplyDeleteSo thank you so much for the words of encouragement.

Got a few more months until my son is there but definitely keeping this in mind! I love that it actually stays there instead of the paper ones you have to remember to throw in each time.

I will most likely be toilet training our son sometime this year (he's almost 2 now) and this is a great idea! I'll check back at your Etsy shop when the time comes. And the idea of using the tooth whitening feature on the photo was brilliant (quite literally, in fact)!
ReplyDeletethis may be over sharing. my 7 yr old son, still sits to pee. he's LAZY! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove your commentary! Just shared with my FB page!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! I just posted this as my pet peeve on my FB page because my 4 year old is so proud of his "standing up" now, however, he needs target practice terribly!! LOL totally funny and ironic that you posted this today, I love it! Don't worry, you don't have to think better of posting this, just remember you've done your civic duty as a mom to boys to share this information! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have been LOOKING FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tutorial!!!

Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteNice. I totally need something like that. We're working on better aim with my 3 year old son, but he's really good at spraying everything BUT the toilet. Sigh. Here's to cleaner bathrooms for both of us in 2012! Would you share this cute post here?

This is awesome! Thanks for linking to the Home Decor and Organizing Link party. I'm featuring this today on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI was JUST thinking how I wish they made a toilet with a target at the bottom of it. Not only are there 4 males in my home, but I also work for a retail store part time where I clean and wish men had a target to aim at, it would make my job so much less gross.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! LIKE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! :) Thanks for linking up at FNF! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. I have 3 boys and out bathrooms are always such a stinky mess! Maybe this would help them...
ReplyDeleteI need this! for my BF lol!
ReplyDeleteJust saw this on the DIY Project parade. Had to click on it to pin it, such a fun idea! I had 3 girls but my daughter just had a son, so this might come in handy! Love how you used the teeth whitening to make your toilet brighter, so funny.
ReplyDeleteDoes it work for husbands? I'm not kidding!
ReplyDeleteOk I totally LOVE this idea and I am so going to make it. But just a question why is the target on the side of the bowl why not the back middle?? Just wondering!
ReplyDeleteI put it on the side because the back of the toilet wasn't as flat and I wanted it to be on the flattest, smoothest part of the toilet bowl for maximum adhesion. I'm sure you understand why ;-)
DeleteThanks!

what about the vinyl. is it water resistant?
ReplyDeleteYes it is. I have had mine in my toilet for a few months now and it is fine. Just be sure that the toilet is really dry when you place it.
DeleteWhat kind of vinyl did you use? Indoor or outdoor? Also, how has it held up to your toilet brush?
