Chickens and Other Stuff

Sorry I haven't been around a whole lot lately.
My husband started a new shift at work and it is really throwing off my daily schedule.

It's good because he is home more now.
For me that means more help with the kids and the house.

But for you that means,
I am being a wife and mother more and not so much a blogger.

I used to write posts in the evening after the kids were in bed.
My husband was gone at work, but he came home at about 11:00 each evening.
So I had a few hours of down time after the kids were asleep and before my man got home.

Now he he is home more evenings and when he is at work he will be there all night.
So I have no reason to stay up late and I go to bed early.
Yay! Sleep!

Have I bored you enough yet?

You may notice that when I ramble I am mostly rambling for my own benefit.
It helps me when I think out loud, or when I think in print.

So right now I am trying to figure out the best time to write
with our new schedule.

Tuesday afternoons have just been voted out because
the hubs has just come down the stairs and suggested we go to lunch.
This may have to become a regular thing.

But since I am here anyway I will finish this post before we go.

*************

The Easter Bunny brought us something really fun.
Baby chicks!

They are so much fun and the kids are in LOVE.
They even cleaned out the poopy newspapers without complaining.

Here are our babies.

They have been named...
 (you're going to love this),

Poopsie
Pee-on-me
Pecky Peckerson
and
Princess Padme

Did you laugh out loud?

Me too.

In a few months when they are big enough they will join our older girls here.
In the chicken coop in the backyard.

Our back yard is a work in progress.

These girls are a little camera shy, they started running when I started snapping pictures.

They are named, Henny-penny and Cluckie-lucky.

My husband and I named them but I definitely think we
should leave the naming of things to the kids, don't you?

  1. I love this! My kids are dying to have chickens but I'm confident our HOA would never allow it. Bravo to you!! It's a beautiful coop.
